What are the benefits to becoming a licensee?

Applying for a True Aussie trade mark licence, permits companies to use the True Aussie trade mark logo to underpin and promote their own Australian red meat brands in international markets.

The brand is globally recognised as a symbol of superiority, reassuring customers and end-users that they are choosing high quality meat products that they can trust.

Licensees gain access to a suite of exclusive brand and marketing assets that can be used to promote their product.

Am I eligible?

The trade mark is used on Australian beef, veal, lamb and goatmeat that is fit for human consumption and is sourced entirely from livestock raised and slaughtered in Australia.
Companies that wish to use the True Aussie trade mark logo, either alone or in association with their eligible Australian red meat product, must apply for a True Aussie Trade Mark Licence.

Companies may be either:

  • Australian companies - Australian red meat exporters or brand owners with an ABN
  • International companies - Importers, manufacturers, processors, wholesalers, retailers, and/or foodservice companies that source Australian red meat products from Australian red meat exporters or brand owners.

FAQ’S

No, the licensing program is free.

True Aussie Trade Mark licences will be valid for a period of 12 months (unless terminated earlier) from the date of approval. MLA will review and renew the licence annually. Throughout the period of the licence, it is the responsibility of the licensee to ensure that all licence information is maintained. This can be actioned via the online self-managed system

Applicants who prefer to execute a hard copy of the Licence Agreement must still complete the online application form and submit it for review. On approval, print and sign your True Aussie Licence Agreement (containing the completed application form and the Terms and Conditions) and send through to trueaussielicence@mla.com.au requesting manual execution. MLA representatives within countries can assist you with this process where required.
